- The 8th grade Literature textbook now in use in Mt Diablo Unified has a piece by Bill Gates introducing young people to email.
- In late March Joe Biden proposed that $813 BILLION be spent on the military in fiscal year 2023–an increase of $81.7 billion since 2019. Meanwhile, public schools across the United States, and especially those that serve working class students, many of them in areas that reliably vote for Democrats, exist in a state of perpetual austerity.
- Who knows what it’s like to teach a kid who’s operating on three hours of sleep, a bit of caffeine, and a bag of flamin’ hot cheetos?
- Here’s a thought: Our students are considerably more addicted to “technology” than they were two years ago.
